FREE GOLF

PRESS RELEASE

(04/29/2020, Tampa, FL) Ace Golf is offering a next-day Free Greens Fee card to golfers who bring in at least 2 non-refrigerated packages or cans of food or make a $5 donation to Metropolitan Ministries throughout the month of May at its four golf courses and driving range. All donations will help to feed families in need through Metropolitan Ministries.

Ace Golf is a local, family-owned golf course operator with public golf courses including Pebble Creek Golf Club in New Tampa (pebblecreekclub.com), Plantation Palms Golf Club (plantationpalms.net) in Land O Lakes, Wentworth Golf Club (wentworthgolfclub.org) and Crescent Oaks Golf Club (crescentoaksgolf.com), both in Tarpon Springs. The company also owns Ace Golf Range (acegolf.com) in Riverview. Donors at the golf range will receive a free round of miniature golf.

“We are grateful to be open and providing safe recreation during this difficult time when so many businesses are closed and families are suffering”, says Bill Place, Ace Golf Owner. “We have taken extraordinary steps, including single-rider golf carts and extensive sanitizing, to keep our guests and staff safe. Golf courses are naturally set up well for social distancing.”

“Seventy-five percent of the people coming to us have never needed help before. So many are suffering due to job loss and need food for their families, said Tim Marks, president and CEO of MetropolitanMinistries, “and Ace Golf is stepping up to help with a much-needed resource like non-perishable food.We can’t do it without community partners like them.”

Free Greens Fee cards are for next day use and require purchase of a cart fee. The cards are valid for use through October 31, 2020. All Ace Golf locations will also accept any cans or monetary donations from non-golfers as well in their pro shops. Greatest food needs at this time are cereal, canned meats, canned fruit, canned vegetables, beans and peanut butter.
